Happy awards season to everyone celebrating! Just minutes before the 2026 Golden Globe Awards began, hosted annually by comedian Nikki Glaser, all eyes were on the red carpet.
This year’s ceremony made history even before the first award was announced: for the first time, the voting body introduced the “Best Podcast” category. As for the films, Paul Thomas Anderson’s A Battle After Another led the night with nine nominations and a whopping five acting nominations. It was followed by Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value with eight nominations, and The Sinners with seven. Let’s not forget that the Golden Globes also honor achievements in television: White Lotus and Adolescence received six and five nominations, respectively.
